1. Summary

After the release of sprint 1.109.0 on 07 Nov 2022, aged parking sessions will be voided automatically after hitting a preset time. Setel Ops are allowed to manually charge voided parking sessions by changing the status to Stopped.

2. Details

2.1 Before

When the parking operator releases the users without voiding or stopping the parking sessions, the users will report to our customer ops through live chat as the users can see the parking timer is still running on their Setel app. The customer ops will then void the parking sessions and the tech ops will manually charge the parking sessions using an endpoint. Tech ops need to use an endpoint to perform manual charge because the parking session will become non-editable after it is voided.

2.2 After

The aged parking session will be voided automatically after preset hours. Admin users can set the hours on Setel Admin Portal. For example, KPM (parking operator) will clear incomplete card transactions for Suria KLCC (parking location) on Entervo (parking vendor’s system) daily. Hence, admin users could set the duration to 24 hours so that the parking sessions created at Suria KLCC will be voided automatically after being active for 24 hours.

Certain roles are allowed edit the voided parking sessions now as the parking sessions that are being voided automatically might need to be manually charged.

2.3 Accessing the feature

Admin users can set the auto-void duration according to the rules of each location.

2.3.1 How to set up the duration for the parking session to be auto-voided?

Admin users can edit the number on the Clear session after field to determine the duration for the parking sessions to be auto-voided.

After the parking session has exceeded the preset hours, it will be auto-voided with a remark.

2.3.2 How to manually charge voided parking sessions?

Setel ops team can perform this action by clicking the Edit button on the parking session.

The process is the same as 2022 Q2: Off-street parking introduces 'Stopped' status to manually charge users parking fees and only certain roles can perform this action.

3. Release plan

The automation for voiding the aged parking session is targeted to be released on 1.109.0 07 Nov 2022
