1. Summary 🚀
Cardless Mesra Redemption is a project to allow PETRONAS users to redeem Mesra points at the station using a mobile number at the Outside Payment Terminal (OPT).
1.10x.0 will be releasing this feature to selected PETRONAS stations.
2. Details ✨
2.1 Before
Only 2 payment options for fuel at the OPT.
Debit/credit card.
Physical Mesra card.
Customer is required to enter a PIN number when a debit/credit card is inserted.
2.2 After
2.2.1 Mesra points Redemption at OPT
Mesra points earned from fuelling can now be redeemed using mobile number login at the OPT.

Users can only enter a maximum amount in RM based on available Mesra points balance.

2.3 What is the prerequisite for me to redeem Mesra points using my mobile number?
You need to set up a 6-digit passcode via either the Setel Web or Setel App.

You need to have your Mesra card activated via either the Setel Web or Setel App.
If you already have an existing physical Mesra card, you’ll need to perform linking and activation of the card before proceeding.
You are required to have at least 100 Mesra points balance in your account.
2.4 How do I set up my 6-digit passcode on the Setel Web & Setel App?

First, log in to your account via setel.com.
2. Reset your passcode.

For first time users, you will be prompted to set up a 6 digit passcode to secure your payment.
2. If you have already set up your passcode, you can change your passcode by following these steps.
2.5 How do I activate or link my Mesra card to my account?
You can activate your Mesra card through the Setel Web or Setel App. However, linking of physical Mesra cards can only be done through the Setel App.

2.6 What happens if I have not set up my passcode prior to this?
You will be prompted with a pending activation screen to activate your account before proceeding.
2.7 What happens if I do not activate my Mesra card prior to this?
You will be prompted with a pending activation screen to activate your account before proceeding.
2.8 What happens if I entered the wrong passcode?
You will have 3 attempts of entering the passcode. Upon the 3 wrong attempts, your account will be logged out for 3 minutes and it will bring you back to the main screen.
2.9 What will happen if my Mesra card is not activated?
Each different Mesra card status will prompt you with a different screen after passcode log in.

2.10 What happens if I do not have the minimal amount of 100 Mesra points in my account?
You will not be able to proceed with the redemption as the minimum redemption amount to proceed is 100 Mesra points.
2.11 Can I enter a redeem amount more than my available balance?
No, you will see an error message stated that you have insufficient Mesra points. You will need to reduce the redemption amount based on your available Mesra points balance.
2.12 Do I need a Setel account for me to perform Mesra points redemption?
If you have previously earned Mesra points using your mobile number at the OPT, you will automatically have a Setel account created for you. You’ll just need to log in to the Setel Web & Setel App to perform Mesra card activation to proceed.
If you have not earned Mesra points using a mobile number at the OPT before, a Setel account with a 0 Mesra point balance will be created. You need to start earning points & activate your Mesra card via the Setel Web or Setel App to proceed.
2.13 Will I get any notification after redemption for fuelling is completed?
Yes. If you are an existing Setel user and have logged in to the Setel App previously, we will send you a push notification notifying you on your redemption details.
If you have not logged into the Setel App previously, we will send you an SMS notifying you on your transaction details.

3.3 When will this be open nationwide?
TBC, nationwide release should include Cardless Mesra initiatives at CDS for a full customer journey.
