Summary

Advertising pin is an advertising feature on Setel to unlock a new revenue channel via means of advertising with paid brands or companies. The pin is shown on the map of the Home page.

How it works

MVP: via variable (sunset as of 28 Jul 2022)

1. Set up of advertising pin done manually via variable

2. Eventually, advertising pin can be setup via Setel Admin through configuring an advertising pin campaign

3. With the launch of Places 2022 Q2: Maps 2.0: New search page revamp to surface non-Station places and enhance discovery, advertising pin will leverage on it in order to show custom pins on the map.

   1. Each Place icon is generic by default, subject to its Place Type.

   2. Custom icon can be applied to selected Places during the advertising pin setup.

Phase 2: via Admin Portal (effective 29 Jul 2022)

1	Admin Portal - Customer Engagement	Navigate to Advertising > Advertising pins section
2	Advertising Pins - General	Click on Create to set up new advertising pin entry. This entry will then refer to a specific partnership/brand that can be catered to a selected list of Place.
3	Advertising Pins - Create Pin	Fill in required details, upload the icon asset that will replaced the list of intended Place. The icon used for the Place will follow the uploaded file size. Pin key field is used for advertising pin event tracking purposes Period to set duration of pin visibility Status to enable or hide pin Pin positioning Anchor U: horizontal Anchor V: vertical What are Anchor U and Anchor V values? 4	Advertising Pins - Pin Details	After creating ad pin, next step is to identify which Place should be applied with the advertising pin treatment
5	Advertising Pins - Adding Places in Map	Click on Add button via Place ID or Place Name. Both options allow adding of multiple Places. Upload By Place IDs E.g. 60e6cc8a1bc5ad00115e65ae place ID to be obtained from each unique Places entry taken specifically from the end of URL Upload By Place Name E.g. EVC Showroom list of Places Name dropdown are available for selection
6	Setel App - Home Map	Newly selected Place will now display the applied advertising pin icon. Note: close and reopen App for changes to take place Example video shows EVC Showroom Staging Initial: default blue EV Charger icon After: purple Gentari icon advertising pin
7	Advertising Pins - Remarks	The ads pin icon used will default back to the original image that was uploaded, unless specified otherwise during the process of adding specific Places. As for anchor U and V values, best to input the same values that was used during the creation process earlier. Expect to view the newly added Places in the Advertising pin details page, under the Map section after adding it in.
