Used cooking oil recycling at stations

 

Background

PDB has a MVP project, code-named “Orion”, to test customer interest around being able to drop-off used cooking oil at stations for recycling.

This will be tested only across weekends of Sat/Sun across a period of time.

For this, we will be aiming for the following customer experience:

1. Customers requiring to have registered to the Setel app

2. Drop-off their used cooking oil at the booth in the station, have it weighed, and a receipt will be given:

   1. With the amount of money for recycling used cooking oil

   2. And Setel account mobile number

3. Funds credited into their Setel account by within 2 business days.

1. Previously running with Arus Oil’s app, without Setel

To run this, PDB partnered with Arus oil, and ran a MVP at PETRONAS Subang Bestari during May and June 2023. The overall customer flow entails

2. New partnership with Capital Oil

Starting from July, PDB has appointed Capital Oil to replace Arus Oil as the UCO collector and Setel as the payment solution provider.
