Emissions calculations provided by the carbon footprint tracker are estimations based on available data and established conversion factors. While we strive to provide the most accurate and up-to-date calculations, there may be inherent limitations in the data sources or uncertainties in the methodology.
Currently, estimations are limited to fuelling, with plans to expand the list of emission activities in the future.
-
Fuelling - Using data from Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), we are able to determine the carbon footprint of the full oil lifecycle (from oil field extraction to engine combustion) based on the amount of purchased fuel.
Further consideration is taken based on the type of fuel pumped such as petrol (RON 95 & RON 97), Diesel Euro 5 B7, and Diesel Euro 5 B10/B20.
- EV Charging - Carbon footprint is calculated from the amount of electricity used to charge the vehicle. The figures are sourced from Green House Gas (GHG) Protocol Scope 3 which includes emissions from suppliers, product users, transportation of goods, and other indirect sources.
